The Object Oriented Concepts Survey

Dear CSI subscribers,

Ewan Tempero, from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and Tony Gorscheck, from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, are looking for software developers to complete a survey on object-oriented design. They are interested in finding out whether the theory taught in software design courses is actually used in real software development. This will not only help them improve the teaching of software design, but help identify more practical areas in which to do research.

Their on-line survey has about 20 questions looking at how developers think about some aspects of software design. They hope to get 2000 responses, so if you think this is a worthwhile project, not only consider doing the survey yourself, but please also consider asking your colleagues to do the same. They will make the results available to all. More details, and the link to the survey, can be found at sefolklore.com.

Tony and Ewan would like to thank you in advance for your time and effort in participating in this survey.
